  • Inclusive Youth Work and Skills Summary – Finding Our Language

    This is a two-part training. In the first part, we look at embedding inclusive practice in your youth work setting. The second part introduces the online tool Skills Summary that helps young people communicate the value of the skills they gain when participating in youth work to future employers.

One World Week Workshops

One World Week Workshops will be a free 2 hour workshop aimed at young people and youth workers. The workshops will use non-formal development education methods that will connect young people and youth workers with Climate Change and taking action in their community.

Identify, Tackle, and Transform Hate Speech and Behaviour in Youth Settings

This course is delivered by a team of Trainers who worked with the National Youth Council of Ireland, in partnership with 4 European organisations- Peace Institute (Finland), Ljubljana Pride (Slovenia), Interfaith Scotland (UK), Hamoment (Portugal) on an innovative Erasmus+ funded project exploring how to transform hate in youth work settings.

Drama Techniques in Youth Work Settings

This tailored workshop is designed to address your needs as a facilitator by adding a range of drama processes to your youth work toolkit! It provides practical tips to ensure success and aims to enhance your creative ability, artistic skills and confidence when working with young people.

Specialist Certificate in Youth Health Promotion

The National Youth Health Programme delivers the Specialist Certificate in Youth Health Promotion in conjunction with NUI Galway every second year. The course aims to encourage, support and facilitate youth organisations to become effective settings for health.

Certificate in Youth Arts

Part time, year long university accredited course of study in Irish Youth Arts Practice managed and delivered by the Arts Programme at NYCI. The Certificate in Youth Arts aims to introduce those working in the non-formal education sector to the concepts, principles and practice of youth arts using a context and practice approach.

Games in Youth Work – Engaging young people in climate action and development education

This innovative and exciting new programme will enable youth workers to use games to strengthen their practice while focussing on climate, environmental and development issues.

NYCI STEAM School 2019

This residential training in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) activities for youth work settings will help you explore pinhole photography and paper circuit art with youth arts specialists Brian Cregan and Maeve Clancy.

It is delivered as part of a collaboration between NYCI’s Youth Arts Programme and STEAM in Youth Work project, meaning participants will also be eligible to apply for a €5,000 Scientist in Youth Work Residency grant.
