  • Mindout: Promoting Social and Emotional Wellbeing – Limerick

    This 2 day interactive training is based on the evidence based MindOut resource developed in 2004 and recently revised by NUI Galway and the HSE Health and Wellbeing Division with support from NYCI. The resource was developed to support the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of young people.

Drama Techniques in Youth Work Settings

This tailored workshop is designed to address your needs as a facilitator by adding a range of drama processes to your youth work toolkit! It provides practical tips to ensure success and aims to enhance your creative ability, artistic skills and confidence when working with young people.

Transforming Hate in Youth Work Settings

This course is delivered by a team of Trainers who worked with the National Youth Council of Ireland, in partnership with 4 European organisations- Peace Institute (Finland), Ljubljana Pride (Slovenia), Interfaith Scotland (UK), Hamoment (Portugal) on an innovative Erasmus+ funded project exploring how to transform hate in youth work settings.

8 Steps to Inclusive Youth Work

Youth organisations can find it difficult to report on their inclusive youth work practice: “What should it look like?”; “Have we done enough?”; “Have we fallen short in some areas?”; “How do we do inclusion work in the context of other demands?”; “What are the key things we need to know to meet the key needs of minority and marginalised young people?”

CERTIFICATE COURSES

Specialist Certificate in Youth Health Promotion

The National Youth Health Programme delivers the Specialist Certificate in Youth Health Promotion in conjunction with NUI Galway every second year. The course aims to encourage, support and facilitate youth organisations to become effective settings for health.

Programme Award: Certificate in Health Promotion (Level 7) – Specialist Certificate in Youth Health Promotion awarded by NUI Galway

Certificate in Youth Arts

Part time, year long university accredited course of study in Irish Youth Arts Practice managed and delivered by the Arts Programme at NYCI. The Certificate in Youth Arts aims to introduce those working in the non-formal education sector to the concepts, principles and practice of youth arts using a context and practice approach.
