Volunteering with young people can change their lives – and yours
Volunteering with young people is such a useful and rewarding activity – some of the benefits you can experience are:
- Volunteering is a great way to give back to your local community, and it will strengthen your connections there
- You’ll meet new people and make new friends – many of our volunteers have told us that they’ve found their ‘tribe’ through volunteering
- Volunteering will teach you valuable new skills and experience, that you can apply to your own life and work
Youth volunteering needs you
Youth groups in towns and villages around Ireland need local volunteers – people like you. All kinds of levels of experience and skills are needed.
If you’ve never volunteered before, that won’t be a problem – many youth groups will give you the training you need. And if you don’t have much free time available, that won’t be an obstacle either. There are lots of skills-based volunteering opportunities too, where you can help a youth group with a specific one-off project.
