Welcome to our One World Week new training offer! We are very keen to share this new training content which is based on our work with you in the youth sector over many years.
Inequality is an issue we face and deal with daily in the youth work sector. We know however, even if inequality has become normalised that it is not normal. We want to explore this with you through our new free OWW training offer.
Our OWW training is an invitation for youth workers to step in to their power as educators and change makers, to feel confident and resourced. This training will equip participants with a power analysis, and skills in working with and taking action on the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted as a global framework to address issues on inequality, poverty, hunger, climate change, and peace.
This workshop will explore the interconnections between issues and provide a space to critically examine how inequality impacts at different levels, from the local to the global.
Participants in this workshop will:
- Learn about different approaches and strategies to help young people critically assess their world, starting with the personal and local.
- Reflect on the systems that contribute to inequality and discuss long-term, sustainable solutions that go beyond charity to create meaningful change.
- Explore how issues like poverty, inequality, consumption, and climate change are interconnected and shaped by global systems.
- Gain an understanding on how the SDGs can be used as a framework for challenging injustices within youth work practice.
