The NUI Certificate in Youth Arts is developed and delivered in partnership by Maynooth University and the National Youth Council of Ireland. It is a part-time programme of study (November 2021 – June 2022) in youth arts practice with focus on the emerging field of STEAM in Youth Work. It will introduce those working in non-formal education to the concepts, principles and practice of youth arts and STEAM in Youth Work using a context and practice approach. Successful completion leads to an award of the National University of Ireland at Level 7 on the National Qualifications Framework with 20 credits within the European Credit Transfer System.
The programme is delivered over 100 contact hours of blended learning, including 20 half-day weekly online sessions (every Thursday morning, 10.00 – 13.00 from 11th November 2021 until 5th May 2022 excluding school holidays, two two-day residentials in Maynooth University (6th & 7th November 2021 and 26th & 27th March 2022) and seven weekly drop-in sessions (every Thursday morning, 10.00 – 11.30 from 12th May to 23rd June 2022). Details of delivery will be adjusted to align with public health guidelines.
