We live in an interconnected world and are influenced every day by globalisation through the food we eat, the music we listen to, what we buy, what we drink, how we live, our ways and means of communication and use of technology.
In this training, we will support youth workers to make their own connections with our globalised world, through everyday issues. Bringing attention to a critical youth work practice, we will invite you to share the issues present in your own work, and how you can use these issues to shape transformation.
The training is designed to support youth workers to bring curiosity to understanding just how we are interconnected at a personal, local, national, and global level. You will also learn new methods, and skills in helping young people to challenge inequality in their own lives, and in the world around them. This is an important skill in supporting the personal and social development of young people, one of the key youth work principles.
This is a hands-on practical training.
This half day or full day training is designed to be delivered online or in-person with youth work organisations.
Participating in this workshop you will:
- Make your own connections from local to global.
- Learn how to see the relevance of global issues in your everyday work.
- Build young people’s capacity to act as changemakers, challenging inequality and injustice.
- Take away new methodologies.
- Be supported as youth workers and organisations to approach the topic of global youth work and what it means to be a global youth worker.
