From the Ground Up
Tackling Inequality with the SDGS
Free Resources + Activity Plans
This resource investigates inequality from the ground up. It will help to bring a deeper understanding into your practice.
This free resource pack includes:
- Ready to run activities, with step-by-step instructions.
- Support and guidance for young people in their personal and social development on the critical issues of our times.
- Knowledge sections on building your personal and collective power.
- Practical tools to develop a more just, green and sustainable future for everyone.
Let’s make sure you have all the bases covered when it comes to Global Youth Work.
This resource is a toolkit to support young people to find the power in their personal story and make their own connections with local and global realities. It is designed to make it as easy as possible for youth workers to explore the inequality present in the work, and to use that knowledge, to support young people to build understanding between their personal experiences of inequality and what is happening at a systemic level. No matter if you are short on time, or don’t feel you have enough knowledge – there is something in here for you!
Broken into starter activities and deeper dives, the resource considers youth work as a rehearsal space and includes all the knowledge, skills and guided activities for you to use with and for young people, across 14 different activities:
This resource:
- Uses the Sustainable Development Goal themes to investigate inequality.
- Brings the voice of personal stories into the centre of the work, to help shape change.
- Takes you from personal and local experiences to global understanding.
- Helps you to step into your power and see yourself as part of a collective, pushing back against inequality.
- Includes ‘take a moment’ strategies in looking after our mind and body, as a core way to resource ourselves in the work.
