The Programme aims
- to support the development of youth arts practice and provision in youth work settings.
- to build the capacity of youth workers and artists to create high- quality, youth-centred arts practice that empowers young people and supports their development.

Job Description
Title:
National Youth Arts Programme Officer
Reporting to:
National Youth Arts Programme Manager with overall accountability to the Director and Board of NYCI.
Location:
Office base will be at 3, Montague Street, Dublin 2 with travel for work required. NYCI is currently piloting a hybrid model of working.
Hours of Work:
35 hours per week (some flexibility will be required, such as evening/weekend work).
Duration:
Until 31 December 2027 (subject to annual funding, duration beyond 2027 may also be extended should funding allow).
Remuneration:
€36,904 – €43,219

Role and Purpose:
The Youth Arts Programme Officer will support the development of youth arts practice and provision in youth work settings, building the capacity of those working in the sector to engage in youth arts and advocating for (and through) youth arts practice with the Youth Arts SPEAKS group.
Working closely with the National Youth Arts Programme Manager, national and local partners, artists and other specialists, this role involves the development, co-ordination, facilitation and administration of actions below and others which may be determined.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, co-ordinate and facilitate (with Programme staff, artists and partners) youth arts training events, projects and initiatives for youth workers and youth work organisations.
Co-ordinate and facilitate Youth Arts SPEAKS, the Programme’s Youth Arts Advocacy Project for 18 to 24-year-olds.
Support the delivery and administration of the National Youth Arts Programme’s grant schemes (including the Artist and Youth Work Residency Grant Scheme) and the management of relationships with funded projects.
Support development and delivery of Youth Arts Hub events, working with Programme staff and local partners to advance skills development, practice exchange and build communities of youth arts practice
Identify, develop and maintain appropriate partnerships and relationships to support the delivery of youth arts development initiatives.
Contribute to the development of resources to support youth arts training programmes and practice.
Contribute to the evaluation and documentation of the Programme’s activities
Any other tasks as requested by the Line Manager.

Relevant third level qualification in Youth/Community Work or Youth/Participatory/Education/Community Art
Experience/Attributes
Minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience working as a youth worker with involvement in the delivery of youth arts programmes.

Experience of delivering training from design to evaluation stage.
