Reporting to
North-South PEACEPLUS Youth ImPact Programme Manager with overall accountability to the Director and Board of NYCI.
Location
Office base will be at either our Dublin or a Belfast office, this will be agreed with the successful candidate. Travel for work will be required. NYCI is currently piloting a hybrid model of working.
Hours of Work
35 hours per week (some flexibility will be required, such as evening/weekend work).
Duration
October 2024 – December 2027 (any extension is subject to additional funding becoming available)
Remuneration
€42,094 – €48,408

Role and Purpose
North-South PEACEPLUS Youth ImPact Programme Officer will be an integral part of the team who will deliver on supporting the organisations, youth workers and practitioners who have been successful in securing PEACEPLUS Youth Programme funding.
Led by the Programme Manager, the Programme Officer will work together with counterparts in the partner organisations to deliver on the activities and deliverables as outlined in a set workplan. While each partner will lead on specific areas and bring specialisms, all members of the Youth ImPact team will be involved with the design, planning, delivery, evaluation and reporting of all deliverables.
This is a dynamic role requiring a strong track record in partnership working, training and facilitation skills, building and supporting practice networks; maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to create sharing hubs; knowledge of PEACEPLUS and PEACEPLUS Youth Programme, good project management skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
Work in collaboration with the North-South PEACEPLUS Programme Manager and other Youth ImPact team members in partner organisations, to ensure the successful implementation of the Youth ImPact Quality and Impact Body workplan.
Serve as the main contact for a specific group of PEACEPLUS Youth Programme delivery agents, offering ongoing remote, in person and on-site support, including
- Determining delivery agent specific training and support needs;
- Co-designing development plans;
- Co-ordinating partnership specific development support sessions.
As part of the cross-partnership Youth Impact team, plan, design, promote, co-ordinate, deliver, monitor, evaluate, report on and account for, a suite of thematic and tailored training and support workshops, seminars and events for PEACEPLUS Youth Programme delivery agents, their partner organisations and workers.
Researching themes and staying abreast of best practice models in the core PEACEPLUS Youth Programme areas of good relations, personal development, citizenship, employability and progression/pathways with and for young people.
As part of the cross-partnership Youth Impact team, distil, share and promote best practice and learning from the PEACEPLUS Youth Programme across delivery agents and with external stakeholders.
Lead on the development and implementation of the Youth ImPact Young Voices initiative.
Project Administration:
- Administration as related to the delivery of project.
- Record keeping, collating and analysing data, and report writing.
- Participate in group/team meetings and provide regular update reports.
Contribute to the development of the North-South PEACEPLUS project strategic goals in line with NCYI’s Strategic Plan.
Any other tasks as requested by the Line Manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- A recognised professional youth work qualification.
Experience/Attributes
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying youth work experience, including:
- Working with and/or supporting those working with young people not in education, employment or training (NEETS);
- Promoting good relations, reconciliation, and cross-border peacebuilding work;
- Developing, delivering, monitoring and reporting on training; and
- Working in partnership with other organisations and agencies.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills to build relationships, network hubs and communities of practice.
- Excellent organisational/time management skills and multi-tasking experience, with an ability to write reports.
- A self-starter and team player who will roll up their sleeves to complete any task necessary.
- The ability to bring innovative and new ways of working, embrace change, and be solution focused.
- Attention to detail and dynamic problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, Team’s and Outlook.
- Possession of valid driver’s licence and access to a car for business purposes. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, if required.
