In line with the new National Youth Health Programme (NYHP) Strategy (2018-2022), the NYHP will establish and provide networking opportunities for youth workers and organisations in order to enhance their continuous professional development in the area of youth health promotion.
This half-day workshop, aims to support individuals involved in the provision of services for young people.
16 (min) – 22 (max) participants
Free of charge
Half day (10am – 2pm)
The aim of the workshop is to resource participants with practical supports they can apply in the daily working lives.
Why: Working with a diverse client group (sometimes with complex needs) demands high skill levels, supportive networks and physical and emotional resources, which often are stretched to their limits. The danger is that often we don’t realise when our capacity is reached. This is an opportunity to reflect on ourselves in our work, enhance hidden resources and discover new ones. Some of the learning objectives from the workshop are:
Youth Workers and those working with young people in the out of school setting.
What past participants from the Dublin workshop have said:
I needed that to re-charge and a push to start self-care in all areas. Recognising to fit it into my working and personal life
It was really valuable, very much needed by the sector
Great workshop, well delivered and thought provoking in the sense it makes you think about yourself which can be hard sometimes especially in a positive manner
