TRAINING DESCRIPTION

The climate crisis is perhaps the greatest injustice of our time. It is well documented that those with the most power to address it have failed to do so, while those who have contributed the least are left to endure the harshest consequences.

It is essential that we build knowledge, understanding, and skills and in turn, take actions that will address the greatest challenge of our time – for current and future generations, for people and planet, so we leave no one behind.

With this in mind, the National Youth Council of Ireland has developed a two-phased training with a Climate Justice focus to support young people take informed action and so that they are empowered to analyse and challenge the root causes and consequences of global hunger, poverty, inequality, injustice and climate change.

The aim of the first phase of the climate justice training was to establish an understanding of the climate justice movement; to identify the links between Climate Justice and Youth Work principles and explore the role of the youth sector in supporting young people in their engagement with Climate Justice.

This training

In this Phase Two Climate Justice training, we will focus on resources and tools to support Youth Workers and Volunteers in bringing a global view of Climate Justice to the young people they engage with.
