Wielding your power – strategies in self care

November 25, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm GMT

DESCRIPTION

As a youth worker, you have a role in recognising your own power, and in recognising the potential of young people to harness and wield their power. This involves recognising that being an activist for change can make demands on our mental health and cause anxiety. Understanding the role of self-care as part of a power journey is key to staying involved and being committed to making change happen.  Strategies in wielding and managing our power are linked to the 7 personal and social development outcomes of UBU and are part of core youth work practice.

This 2-hr workshop will bring 20 youth workers together to share insights and practical steps on wielding personal power and managing mental health well-being in the process.
