Local to Global: Understanding COP & Climate Action

Calling all 18-30 year olds! Join this event on climate action, COP (the UN climate change conference), and the role young people can play in shaping global and local change. 

This in-person workshop will provide an in-depth understanding of COP, climate networks, and how individuals can engage in climate advocacy at both a domestic and global level. The event will also offer valuable networking opportunities for those passionate about climate action.

Objectives

  • Better understanding the largest, global climate change conference known as COP.
  • Understanding the high-level language most commonly used at COP (eg. Adaptation, Mitigation, Just Transition, Climate Finance, etc.)
  • How does COP relate to Ireland? What are Irish policymakers asking for at COP?
  • Being in a space to share your thoughts on climate, advocacy, and meet like-minded peers.
  • Have the opportunity to influence, opinions will be shared with the Department of Environment, Climate & Communications.

 

 

Additional Information

  • An information pack will be sent to registered participants, which will include further event details, preparation instructions, and information on accessibility and travel reimbursements. The venue is fully step-free.
