Supporting Grassroots: Local Action, Global Justice

November 18, 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm GMT

Welcome to One World Week 2025

This November, we’re exploring the power of connection, community, and celebration. We’re bringing together young people, youth workers, volunteers, leaders, and educators to explore what a truly equal and just world looks like.

This year’s theme, There is Nothing Normal About Inequality, is based on the Youth2030 Global Youth Work resource, ‘From the Ground Up: Youth Power, tackling inequality with the SDGs’ One World Week Toolkit.

Together we will explore some critical questions: How do our values shape the world around us? Why is there more inequality than ever? How can we raise grassroots voices globally?

Supporting Grassroots: Local Action, Global Justice

Challenges of inequality, exclusion, and contested identities exist in many parts of the world. This event will explore how Africa’s story of resistance, creativity, and leadership relates to larger struggles for justice globally.

Together, we will look at the importance of changing the language we use, rethinking power narratives, and investing in skill development for youth workers. Supporting young people to become changemakers in their communities, starting from where they are, is key to creating inclusive and sustainable futures.
