In recent years, through conversations with youth workers across the island of Ireland during training and various events, a common theme has emerged: the urgent need for resources and support to help navigate the digital landscape that we all now inhabit.

Bullying, once confined to classrooms and playgrounds, has found new life online, where it can reach its targets anytime, anywhere. The rapid evolution of technology and the internet has made it easier for bullying to migrate online, with young people often receiving access to devices at increasingly younger ages. Unfortunately, many of these young individuals are not yet emotionally mature enough to fully comprehend or safely navigate the complexities of the online world.

In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic, which drove so much of our lives online, fast – tracked our reliance on social media for news and information. However, alongside that came the rise in A.I and fake news, making it difficult for people to identify between reliable and trustworthy news sources.

With this seminar, we want to build your own confidence and capacity in navigating the online space and reclaiming the digital world as a place of connection, not harm.
