SDG Youth Worker Fest

November 20, 2024 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm GMT

Join us to celebrate the SDG Youth Worker Fest in central Dublin. One venue, many different vibes!

For this event, youth workers will enter a world of creativity though spoken word-’Let the Pen Speak’, storytelling, mystery guests, dance moments and SDG-Pop Up Zones. You will also leave with take away tools for implementing new skills and ideas in your work.

Our food and nourishment will enhance your festival experience, and this will help you to make your own connections with our planet and people.

The heart of this festival is about coming together! So that we can bring the SDGs to life and find our voice in addressing inequality.

All of this will happen inside an arena that brings you closer to global economics, culture, the environment, political forces, and technology. Helping you make sense of the sustainable future of the planet and how this can impact your work with young people.

I am a co-founder of 2 LGBTQIA+ spaces for young people and my main focus is to provide safe space for those who need it and empower our young people to act for a better world for us all.

Hernán Tena Cortés

Hello! I’m Hernán Tena Cortés, a Justice and Equality Project Leader at Youthwork Ireland Tipperary, based in Thurles. With over a decade of experience across education, social care, and leadership, I specialise in empowering individuals and fostering inclusive environments. Currently pursuing a PhD in Complex Thinking, I am passionate about driving positive change through education and cultural exchange.

Fiona Creedon

Hi, I’m Fiona, Youth Officer for Co. Wicklow. I’ve been working with young people in different settings (youthwork, Youthreach, School Completion) for over 20 years. Young people inspire me and make me hopeful about the future and as a result, I am always curious and open to learning about ways to support them. I’ve just completed the Global Youth Work certificate with NYCI & Maynooth University and I’m all in. Move over Mary Robinson! ☺️

Deirbhile Craven

Hi! My name is Deirbhile and I am the Youth and Education Officer for Trócaire. This is my second year working as part of Trócaire’s Development Education team, having previously worked as a post-primary school teacher. I am passionate about connecting with young people through development education methodologies and empowering them to take action for positive change towards a more just future.

Chris O’Donoghue

Hello, my name is Chris O’Donoghue, and I work as the development officer with Friends of Africa. I have been in this role for 6 years now and previous to that I worked with another NGO for 15 years. I have been so lucky to be able to include global education and youth work in my various roles here in Ireland in around the World. Solidarity is what drives me, and I love finding new ways to express this, especially with diverse groups of young people.
