Perspectives on Empathy in Youth Work
February 25 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm GMT€20 – €30
The National Youth Council of Ireland invites you to register for a seminar – ‘Perspectives on Empathy in Youth Work’ which will take place on February 25th.
Empathy is the ability to understand and share feelings of another, and is considered an important part of wellbeing and personal development and reflective practice. As is the case with many themes and issues in youth work practice, it can be approached through a range of perspectives. Using Empathy as a case study, NYCI will explore how the youth work sector can engage with young people through the lens of Arts, Health, Development Education, Inclusion, International and Child Protection, and explore how a range of outcomes can be achieved within the same project. This approach is applicable to a range of other themes and issues
In addition, the day will also facilitate the youth worker to support themselves within their own role by gaining knowledge, confidence and developing their own skills in relation to empathy. This is also an opportunity for you to network and to consider practice wisdom from different perspectives, with others in the youth work sector.
The seminar will consist of speakers, workshops and case studies form the youth work sector and is programmed as a partnership initiative of the practice areas of NYCI.
