NYCI’s Child Protection Programme would like to invite you to an Information Session with the National Vetting Bureau of An Garda Síochána on Monday 29th May 2023 at 11am. Garda Vetting is an important part of the safeguarding procedures that organisations follow when recruiting new staff or volunteers into your organisation to work with young people.
Garda Vetting is conducted in respect of any person who is carrying out work or activity, a necessary and regular part of which consists mainly of the person having access to, or contact with, children or vulnerable persons. It is a service designed to enhance the protection of children and vulnerable persons. The National Vetting Bureau provide potential employers and voluntary sector organisations with relevant criminal history information on individuals applying for relevant work and issue disclosures which give details of an individual’s criminal convictions or state that they have none. Using these disclosures will assist a potential employer or voluntary organisation in their recruitment decision, helping to protect children and vulnerable persons.
