Foundations for the Future: Strengthening Core Skills in Young People – Friday 5th December

December 5 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm GMT

Transversal skills (soft/ transferrable/ 21st century skills), aren’t just buzzwords, these skills are foundational for a successful and meaningful life, no matter what path young people take. But currently, the world really is buzzing with those words: these skills will distinguish us from what AI offers, these skills are the most in demand skills in the workplace,….

Youth work plays a vital role in fostering transversal skills and shouldn’t be overlooked in these conversations. Because youth work is an essential vehicle for young people to develop those core transversal skills, such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork and leadership.

Join us for an interactive, engaging and affirming day where participants will hear from expert speakers exploring the role of transversal skills in the workforce, opening up routes to employability, ensuring wellbeing and supporting education. We will also hear from a youth worker and young person sharing their experiences and benefits of using Skills Summary.

Also, you’ll be the first hear all about and help shape new Networks of Skills Champions for 2026!
