This practical training workshop will explore photography as an exciting creative medium for engaging young people in youth work and youth arts settings. Photography can provide an amazing creative lens for young people to explore themselves and their world – while also helping us to capture and evaluate our work with them!

During this workshop together, we will explore:

  • Camera and photography basics
  • Technical and practical skills in photography such as exposure, composition and light
  • Best practice facilitation approaches and ideas to help you use photography in youth work and youth arts practice
  • Practical ideas for using photography as an evaluation tool

This practical workshop will take a learn-by-doing approach so participants can explore the process from a participant point of view as well as picking-up tips on how to facilitate photography as a youth arts experience with young people. Please bring your own smartphone (with camera) where possible to use in the training.

Join artist Aislinn Delaney and the National Youth Arts Programme team on Feb 23rd for an exciting photography workshop to re-energise your creative work with young people!

This event is delivered as part of the SPARK Youth Arts Festival. The SPARK Youth Arts Festival is funded by The Arts Council and the Department for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.
