EU Presidency: Critical Consultations

You’re Invited to have your voice heard at the EU level! Take part in our Critical Consultations, with a focus on Climate Change & Connecting EU with Youth and EU Youth Goal no. 4 “Information and Constructive Dialogue” in preparation for the Irish EU Presidency next year (July-Dec 2026).

  • Outcomes from the climate consultation will reported directly to the Department of Climate, Energy and Environment to plan their priorities for Ireland’s Presidency duration. 
  • Outcomes from the Connecting EU with Youth will be taken by 3 of the youth participants at the event to the Cypriot EU Youth Conference in early 2026.

Objectives

  • Explore ways to connect young people with (and have your voice heard within) EU processes
  • Get young people involved at a national and European level 
  • Gather like-minded young people to discuss issues that matter to them

Designed for

Young People / Youth leaders, 15-30 yrs, living on the island of Ireland & who want to be more involved in shaping society.

Extra Information

Registration necessary
All participants must fill out the following application individually or have it filled out by their youth worker/orgs with their individual information in advance of the event.

Participation Consent Form for Under 18yrs
On registering you will receive an email with a link to a participation consent form that will be required to get filled in by parent/guardian in order to attend the event. Please send this consent form to sumayyah@nyci.ie asap (but at least 1 week before the event).

Participation Consent Form for Youth Workers
If you are a youth worker bringing a group, NYCI have an easy consent form for you that avoids you needing to bring individual consent forms! Please contact jeanmarie@nyci.ie to be sent our Youth Worker consent form.

Reimbursement
Bring your return public transport ticket to the event and we will reimburse you on the day. If you are unable to use public transport or are a youth worker bringing a group of young people, please contact jeanmarie@nyci.ie in advance of the event to check whether you can be reimbursed.
