DLP Hub for the Youth Work Sector

November 26 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm GMT

NYCI’s National Child Protection Programme is looking to run Hubs for DLPs and Deputy DLPs to provide spaces for shared learning, support, and to build knowledge on safeguarding and child protection issues.

To begin we will pilot a hub in one region, with the potential for expansion of the Hubs to other regions in 2025.

If you could benefit from a DLP Hub in your area, fill out the expression of interest form below to help NYCI assess demand and determine suitable locations for the Hubs.

Objectives

Provide a space for support and sharing learning for Designated Liaison Persons (DLPs) and Deputy Designated Liaison Persons (DDLPs) and offer opportunities to increase knowledge on safeguarding and child protection.

  • This was identified as a need by DLPs and Deputy DLPs during a 2022 evaluation that was carried out on the DLP 2-day training programme.
  • This expression of interest form will help us understand the demand for these Hubs and the areas where we will hold them.
  • The role of the DLP is key to creating environments and cultures within organisations that recognise the importance and responsibility to keep children and young people safe when we work with them.
  • It’s important that DLPs receive the necessary support to carry out this important role and the aim is that these DLP Hubs will become a facet of that support system, bringing DLPs together from various organisations to share experiences, learning and to build our capacity to respond to child protection and safeguarding issues together.

Designed for

Designated Liaison Persons (DLPs) and Deputy Designated Liaison Persons (DDLPs)
