Event Description

This is a 2-day training programme delivered by the Child Protection Programme for DLPs and Deputy DLPs in the youth sector.

The aim of this DLP Training is to give participants the opportunity to explore the role and responsibilities of being a DLP, and to give participants information and guidance on good practice to carry out this role effectively.

Participant should have a general understanding of child safeguarding and protection and must have attended child protection training (e.g. Child Protection Awareness Programme) within the last two years OR completed Tusla’s Children First e-learning on www.tusla.ie before attending this training.

This is a scheduled face-to-face training that will be delivered in-person at the Communications Workers Union, Dublin. In line with the current government and public health guidelines, there are currently no restrictions in place regarding in-person events. Participants are welcome to wear masks during the training if they so wish, this is voluntary rather than mandatory so please be aware other participants may not be wearing masks

 

The location of this training is Communication Workers Union, 575 North Circular Road, Dublin 1

 

We will provide tea and coffee at the breaks and sandwiches for lunch. Please advise of any dietary requirements by contacting lauren@nyci.ie.

 

This training has been provisionally scheduled with the view to evaluate any changes to public guidance in the weeks preceding the training. With that in mind, NYCI reserve the right to cancel this training if circumstances in relation to Covid-19 change or if the government/public health guidelines change. In the event that face-to-face training cannot take place, this training will be rescheduled to a later date. Please note this training will not be moved online. NYCI will give as much notice as possible for any updates about the status of the training, in accordance with the public health guidance available at the time. NYCI will issue refunds to participants if the training is cancelled or rescheduled. For all other circumstances, please review NYCI’s Cancellation Policy prior to booking.

 

In the event that circumstances change with regard to Covid-19 prior to this training date, NYCI will abide by the government and public health guidelines at the time the event is due to take place. Therefore, restrictions or public safety measures may be put in place so that the training can ahead.
