EXTRA INFORMATION

Past participants in NYCI’s STEAM in Youthreach trainings have said:

It was the best course that I ever did! really enjoyed it as it was practical and informative. I was quite motivated after it and even the coordinator noticed my enthusiasm.

I now am more relaxed when delivering STEAM activities with young people. I am more confident and able to enjoy the process of mutual learning with young people. Without the training I wouldn’t know where to start or even think I am capable. It’s fantastic knowing that you have support to enhance our projects.

STEAM has enhanced that work that we do and it is so relevant to young people. Training, equipment and advice has enabled us to deliver exciting and innovative STEAM programmes.

The majority of our young people would be kinaesthetic learners. The activities, project and ideas that are developed by NYCI STEAM fit with our learners. They learn skills such as teamwork, communication, problem solving. They are learning in such a way as they do not realise they are learning. They are learning through doing and discovery.

Increased confidence and exposure to subjects they never thought they’d have access to.

This training package is provided through ‘Full STEAM Ahead! A Partnership Approach to STEAM in Youthreach’ with funding from the Science Foundation of Ireland. You can find out more about this project and the other supports on offer here.
