DESCRIPTION

The NYCI Child Protection Programme is delivering a series of live webinars in 2021 to support the youth sector with some of the key safeguarding and child protection issues impacting them due to Covid-19.

For this webinar, The Child Protection Programme has partnered with Women’s Aid to offer a live webinar on young people’s experience of intimate relationship abuse in Ireland.

This webinar will provide an opportunity for youth workers in Ireland to learn more about young people’s experience of intimate partner violence and abuse. The webinar will provide information on the prevalence of violence and abuse against both young men and women within the context of intimate relationships. The gendered dimensions of domestic violence will be highlighted and the presenters will focus primarily on young women’s experience of intimate partner abuse.

Participants will hear about the forms of abuse young women experience and the impacts on them. The Too Into You Campaign, a public awareness campaign that helps young people and those supporting them to spot the 10 key danger signs of intimate relationship abuse will be introduced.

The session will be between 1 hour – 1.5 hours to allow for the presentation and questions.
