DESCRIPTION

The NYCI Child Protection Programme is delivering a series of live webinars in 2021 to support the youth sector with some of the key issues impacting them due to Covid-19.

For this webinar, The Child Protection Programme has partnered with CyberSafeKids to offer a live webinar for youth workers and youth organisations, to look at the keys to successfully developing and delivering content online.

Covid-19 has changed how the youth sector engages with young people online, which introduces new learning and considerations about developing and delivering online content. CyberSafeKids will discuss key principles of delivering online content and developing good ‘netiquette.’ The session will use a case study in online learning to explore these themes and provide information on useful resources.

The webinar will be delivered by Philip Arneill from CyberSafeKids.

About Philip

Philip is Head of Education & Innovation at CyberSafeKids. He is an international educator with over 20 years’ experience teaching and training learners in a range of multicultural contexts. In addition to time as a programme coordinator at British Council Egypt, he lived in Tokyo for 19 years, teaching in different international schools. Philip has been increasingly involved in teacher training and mentoring since 2011, with a specific focus on the meaningful integration of educational technology tools in the classroom, most recently under the auspices of the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.

About CyberSafeKids

Established in 2015 and formerly known as CyberSafeIreland, CyberSafeKids is an Irish registered charity which works to empower children, parents, and teachers to navigate the online world in a safe and responsible manner. Our founders and staff have backgrounds in cybercrime investigation, forensic psychology, education, online child protection, academia, and the not-for-profit sector. We can see on a daily basis how technology plays an increasingly important and integral part of their daily lives, especially in the current situation. We want children and young people to be able to embrace the opportunities for learning and enjoyment that technology can deliver, but we must also equip them with the tools to stay safe and avoid harm.
