Bearing Witness, Building Belonging – Webinar

September 29 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm IST

Bearing Witness, Building Belonging

Supporting the wellbeing of young people seeking protection through creativity and connection

Join us for an insightful webinar with Dr Rachel Hoare exploring trauma-informed, creative approaches to supporting young people seeking protection. Dr. Hoare is the author of Psychological Support for Refugee Adolescents: An Expressive Arts Approach to Wellbeing and Trauma Recovery. Drawing on her extensive experience with refugee and migrant communities, Dr Hoare will share insights on the psychological realities facing young people seeking protection, with a particular focus on recognising and building upon young people’s strengths, resilience and capacity for growth.

This webinar will highlight how trauma-informed creative approaches can nurture identity development, belonging and wellbeing. Alongside exploring the often-unseen challenges these young people face, this conversation will bring practical insights into how youth workers can respond in ways that foster safety, connection, and agency.

At its heart, this webinar recognises the unique contribution of youth work: meaningful support begins with trust, connection and presence. Dr Rachel Hoare’s key message is that youth workers do not need to be therapists to nurture wellbeing, nor artists to unlock the power of creativity.
