WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?

This is an application to select 3 young people to represent Ireland at the EU Youth Conference in France or possibly online depending on Public Health Guidelines.
‘Young Voices’ in Ireland, is part European wide process called ‘EU Youth Dialogue’ which gives young people all over Europe a chance to ‘have your say’ about decisions affecting your life. Young Voices aims to give young people aged 16-30 years an opportunity to influence decision makers and policy makers on the themes selected for the EU Youth Dialogue cycle.

The focus of this EU Youth Dialogue Cycle is “Engaging together for a sustainable and inclusive Europe”. The conference will open the 9th cycle of the EU Youth Dialogue, chaired by the Trio Presidency of France, the Czech Republic and Sweden.

WHERE IS THE EU YOUTH CONFERENCE BEING HELD?

European Parliament, Strasbourg France
Currently, it is planned that the conference will be held in person in Strasbourg, France. However depending on Public Health Guidelines, the organisational arrangements may be reviewed and adapted to a virtual format.

WHEN IS THE EU YOUTH CONFERENCE?

From 24 January to 26 January 2022 – 2 days travel on the 23rd and 27th Jan.

There will also be a briefing meeting online to prepare you for the conference and you will have to be available for this meeting on 12th Jan afternoon.

Full days from Mon 24th – Wed 26th Jan 2022. Potentially travel days on Sunday 23rd and Thursday 27th. Depending on public health guidelines the conference may be full days online from mon 24th – Wed 26th Jan

If you are selected you will be expected to commit to the entire EU Youth Dialogue Process of the current EU Presidency cycle.

What does this mean?

This means that we would like you to become part of the team that will be promoting the EU Youth Dialogue/Young Voices work and encouraging young people to participate throughout the process.

How?

  • We will support you to be a “multiplier”
  • Sharing outcomes and experiences through social networks (before, during and after the Conf.)
  • Connecting with other groups of young people.
  • Linking with Youth Dialogue meetings and other focus groups in 2022/23

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

  • If you are under 18, you will need additional consent for participation.
  • The application form below must be completed online by Dec 12th .We will not be accepting any late applications.

Please provide age when registering. If you are under 18yrs we will need also an email address and/or mobile phone number of a parent or guardian to seek consent for under 18year olds to join the meeting.

If you are selected you will be expected to commit to the entire Conference. Please note, submitting an application for the Conference does not guarantee a place. Due to capacity restraints all applicants may not be contacted, however Selected candidates will receive further information and confirmation.
