TRAINING DESCRIPTION

This 2.5-hour online training session explores and unpacks the connections of Youth Work, young people, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.

Participants will be guided and challenged through the various elements and components of the Sustainable Development Goals. To start connecting the importance and potential of the SDGs on young people, communities in Ireland , and to set a global lens to Youth Work.

There will be two opportunities to take part in this training.

Option 1: 10am to 12:30pm | Option 2: 2pm to 4:30pm

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

In the ACTion online training you will:

  • Gaining an understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and their potential
  • Exploring the connections between young people and the SDGs
  • Connecting Irish youth work to the SDGs
  • Establishing a connection between local and global issues
