This document is a report from a youth consultation process on the subject of ‘Shaping our Electricity Future’ – a joint initiative between the National Youth Council of Ireland and EirGrid. Electricity may not be a typical issue that young people often consider. After all, we have electricity here at the touch of a button! So, it was good to be reminded that this is not always the case in different parts of the world AND, that with a 70% target of renewable energy use to create electricity in Ireland by 2030 so we reach of Sustainable Development Goals target, this is an issue that young people very much should be part of discussing and shaping. What follows is a report which captures the story of a unique collaboration which produced a fascinating level of high quality engagement across multiple platforms which culminated in an online Youth Assembly on April 21st 2021.
