Digital Communications Officer
Role and Purpose
You will be central to the delivery and execution of NYCI’s new digital strategy, supporting with the development, distribution and measurement of strategic, effective digital promotions and communications.
Reporting to
Communications Manager
Location
Remote (European timezones) with occasional attendance at in-person events (conferences, whole organisation planning days etc) where required.
Hours of Work
Full time (35hrs/week, flexible)
Salary
Starting salary: €31,676 per annum (Point 1 of Officer Scale).

Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for digital projects and development of content
- Promote NYCI’s projects and issues, and drive engaged, relevant traffic to NYCI activities through online marketing and communications
- Continually improve websites to provide trusted, interesting, informative and web-friendly content which is up to date, and work with internal contributors to make sure their content reflects this
- Manage social media content calendar and posting schedule
- Manage email communications
- Monitor and optimise NYCI’s Google Grant Ads account
- Evaluate opportunities to run digital ad campaigns; set up, monitor and report on paid digital advertising
- Regular reporting on all digital communications, and application of insights from reporting to activities
- Research relevant digital developments and trends from wider landscape, test technologies and formats, connect with communities of peers to stay up to date with best practice and strategic use of digital
- Ensure NYCI brand identity is adhered to online and all legal requirements are met, while working towards accessibility in all content across a range of devices
Person Specification
Relevant Experience
Essential:
- 3 years’ experience working in digital communications / marketing / campaigns
- Experience with supporting multiple teams with diverse goals
- Experience analysing and reporting on data from Google Analytics
Desirable:
- Experience working in a similar non-profit / member organisation
- Google Analytics Academy certification
- Website content development
- Creation of visual content – graphics and video
- Proven track record of content development
- Project management of digital projects
Direct experience with:
- Google Ads
- Social media
- Facebook’s business tools
- Email marketing
- Web content management systems
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude
Essential:
- Have an excellent knowledge and understanding of digital analytics, goal setting and reporting
- Proven and demonstrable skills in designing, delivering and publishing digital content
- Excellent knowledge of up to date digital best practice,and setting strategic goals for digital promotions
- Innovative and creative approach to digital
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Focused on outcomes and deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent motivational skills in a team setting
- Proven ability to manage a complex workload
- Ability to input into and feed back on campaign plans and support others with developing strategic digital activities
