The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) is seeking an experienced Youth Arts Manager who has an interest and commitment to supporting quality youth arts practice within the youthwork sector. The post holder will need to have extensive knowledge and understanding of the principals and practices of youth arts in a youthwork context alongside taking a key leadership role within the organisation and development of the National Youth Arts programme.
The NYCI National Youth Arts Programme is a strategic partnership of NYCI, the Arts Council and the Dept of Children and Youth Affairs, dedicated to realising the potential of young people through good quality youth arts practice within youth work organisations and the non-formal educational sector, and to develop appropriate policies and activities at local, regional and national level.
The NYCI is a membership led, national umbrella organisation which represents and supports community, voluntary and not for profit youth organisations in Ireland. Founded in 1967, NYCI currently have 52 members across Ireland who represents the scope, scale and diversity of the youth work sector (www.youth.ie/members). Youth organisations influence the lives of over 380,000 young people in every community in Ireland.
