The NYCI Child Protection Programme is partnering with CyberSafeIreland to offer a live webinar for youth workers, to raise awareness of what children and young people are doing online, and the associated risks and safeguards.
The Covid-19 situation has changed how the youth sector engages with young people online, which has introduced new learning and considerations regarding online safety. The National Youth Council of Ireland aims to support the youth work sector to navigate the impact of Covid-19 on youth work and to be confident and informed about online safety. The best safeguard against online dangers is to be informed and internet-aware.
CyberSafeIreland will provide information and guidance on platforms young people are using, and discuss the inherent risks of being online, such as oversharing and privacy, cyberbullying, sexting, grooming and extortion.
The webinar will explore strategies for engaging in young people’s digital lives and empowering them to use technology in a stronger, smarter, and safer way.
