Invitation to Conference
The countdown has begun to September’s meeting at the United Nations on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where National Governments will decide on the seventeen goals that could transform the world by 2030.
This presents an invaluable opportunity for countries around the world to re-think children’s and young people’s rights and needs.
To make the most of this opportunity the Coalition for Children’s Rights, in partnership with the Children’s Rights Alliance and the National Youth Council of Ireland, will hold a conference entitled:
‘Making Rights a Reality’ on 18th June 2015 in the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin Castle at 9am.
The ‘Making Rights a Reality’ Conference has two core objectives:
The Coalition for Children’s Rights is an entity that comprises Irish-based agencies operating in the sectors of children’s rights in development and emergencies situations. With this conference, the Coalition aims to bring together a multi-sector audience including civil society, children’s and youth organisations, relevant Government bodies and academics from Ireland and abroad. It is hoped that the event will spark conversation, strengthen our shared understanding and provide the opportunity to set a platform for information exchange to enable the different stakeholders to understand, manage and monitor effectively the new development goals – now and into the future.
We hope you will be able to join us for this important conference. Please RSVP by 15th June 2015 to RSVP@plan.ie.
