The Inspiring Future Youth Workers movement continues to grow—building on the success of the Dublin pilot project and responding to a clear need across the sector.
Through national consultations led by the National Youth Council of Ireland as part of its role in the European Youth Work Agenda, one message stood out: we must do more to recruit, support, Inspire and retain the next generation of youth workers.
This national conference in Dublin brought together a combination of 90 youth practitioners, educators, and organisations from across Ireland to explore innovative and sustainable approaches to developing future youth workers.
✨ The event:
- Showcased proven and practical models
- Fostered collaboration across the sector
- Created space for meaningful dialogue on the future of youth work
- Launched the Inspiring Future Youth Workers resource, designed to support organisations nationwide to plan and deliver collaborative events alongside their education colleagues
A key message from the day was clear: when youth workers and educators come together, powerful and inspiring pathways are created for young people.
Participants left with fresh insights, stronger networks, and renewed inspiration to shape youth work in their communities and beyond.
👉 Call to Action:
Now it’s time to build on this momentum. We’re inviting organisations across the country to come together with education partners and organise their own Inspiring Future Youth Workers events—using the new resource to spark interest, share pathways, and inspire the next generation.
