Youthreach is a nationwide programme that provides early school leavers with opportunities to progress their education and acquire certification in supportive, alternative settings. It is a crucial part of the education sector with almost 6,000 students.
‘Full STEAM Ahead! A Partnership Approach to STEAM in Youthreach’ is a two-year project (2021- 2023) that is supporting three Youthreach Centres to design and deliver cutting-edge STEAM education and public engagement initiatives. Learning will be used to develop a range of educational management, teaching and extra-curricular resources that will be shared with the wider Youthreach sector.
This project is being delivered in partnership with: Ballymun Youthreach, Shanagolden Youthreach, Tuam Youthreach, CASTeL (Centre for Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning), DCU and the National Co-ordination Unit, Office of the National Co-ordinator for Youthreach/VTOS.
NYCI is now seeking an Education and Engagement Officer to coordinate this project. This is a varied role requiring experience in the delivery of education or public engagement programmes or marketing and communications in the non-formal, alternative or formal education sectors. The post holder will need excellent skills in relationship development, organisation and project coordination and a passion for equality and inclusion. This is a fixed term contract, and the successful applicant will report to NYCI’s STEAM Engagement Programme Manager.
