This communication from DCYA acknowledges all of the staff, management and volunteers in youth services across Ireland for the amazing work they have done up to this point and that youth work is an essential service for many young people, particularly those that are vulnerable and particularly in these challenging, anxious and uncertain times.
The Department again reassures voluntary youth organisations of its intention to continue funding services as normal throughout this crisis period. In offering this reassurance, it acknowledges that services cannot ‘continue as normal’ and welcomes the efforts that services are making to innovate by providing supports and managing day to day activities in new ways.
