What a day at Buswells! Over 80 elected representatives joined us to meet with young people and youth workers from across the country.
A huge thank you to all the TDs and Senators who took the time to listen – and most of all, to the incredible young people who shared powerful, personal stories about how youth work has shaped their lives and strengthened their communities.
When policymakers hear directly from the people affected by their decisions, better policy follows. Youth work is not just a service – it’s an essential part of our communities that supports young people to thrive.
We’re proud to stand alongside this generation as they call for meaningful investment in youth work in Budget 2026.
Keep an eye out in your local press and social media as we start sharing pictures from the day – this is just one part of our wider push to build momentum for real investment in youth work in Budget 2026.
The event is part of NYCI’s
YouthWorkersChangeLives campaign, which highlights the power of youth work and calls on Government to invest an additional €21.3 million in youth work services in the upcoming Budget. It is hosted by the NYCI Local Champions, an initiative supported by the Community Foundation Ireland that aims to amplify the voices of young people and showcase the transformative power of youth work locally and nationally.
