We are excited to share the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) Annual Report for 2023. This report highlights our impactful work and diverse projects undertaken for and with the youth sector this year.
Our vision is to empower young people through excellent youth work, helping them reach their potential and participate in an inclusive society. This year, despite significant challenges, youth organisations, workers, and volunteers have shown remarkable dedication. We adapted our programmes to meet their needs, introduced new networks, and advocated for increased funding through our Youth Work Changes Lives campaign.
A major milestone was the launch of the Vision for Youth Work at our national conference. Developed with our members, it outlines the future of youth work in Ireland for the next decade, aiming to provide high-quality, well-resourced services to all young people.
Our advocacy efforts have kept NYCI at the forefront of youth work policy in Ireland. We strengthened existing relationships and formed new ones, including with the Department of the Taoiseach’s Shared Island Unit. We also contributed significantly to the consultation for the new National Youth Work Services Strategy.
In 2023, we began crafting a new strategic plan to enhance our representation of the youth sector, build capacity, and influence policies for better outcomes for young people. Our goals include supporting the sector, forming impactful partnerships, and maintaining high organisational performance.
We extend our sincere thanks to our Board, staff, and membership for their dedication. We invite you to explore the NYCI Annual Report 2023 to learn more about our achievements and success stories from our members. Thank you for your continued support.
