“What’s doing?” Anti-racism event

March 21st is the International Day for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, and to mark this occasion and the European-wide Action Week against Racism, the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) is hosting “What’s doing?” to showcase positive examples of intercultural youth work projects.

The event - “What’s doing?” - has already been held in Cork, and following on from that successful and informative session for youth workers in Munster, the Dublin event will exhibit positive examples (approximately 5) of intercultural youth work projects.

“What’s doing?” targets youth workers and will give them a chance to learn directly from other youth work organisations about how the intercultural projects were conceived, planned and implemented, what challenges arose and how they were overcome. The event will highlight the practicalities of intercultural youth work, and the main focus of the evening will be small sessions of Question & Answers led by the 5 project managers with a maximum of 10 participants in each. Participants should be willing to have an active role in the group sessions and come with clear questions to be put forward.

“What’s doing?” will take place in Dublin city centre on Thursday 2 April from 5 – 7 pm in Dublin City Public Library, 138-144 Pearse Street, Dublin 2
