Young Womens Christian Association

As a Christian Association our purpose is to share our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with women and all young people and to serve the whole community by encouraging spiritual, physical and social development.

Our Objectives are threefold:

  1. To provide opportunities for people, particularly young people, to explore the Christian faith; enabling them to put their trust in Christ as Saviour and Lord, and to grow in faith through Bible study, prayer and witness.
  2. To provide educational and recreational facilities and programmes to encourage all round development.
  3. To encourage participation with like-minded groups world-wide.

Membership and Structure

The association operates throughout the 32 counties and is affiliated to the World YWCA and European YWCA. It is managed by a Board. A Committee and Manager adminster each local unit, and are responsible to the Board for upholding the purpose and objectives.

The Association provides Student hostels and holiday centres. Programmes for the development of young people; spiritually, physically, mentally, socially and culturally, are provided for residents, visitors and local young people. The Centres are also available, subject to demand, for the use of other organisations.
