The National Youth Arts Programme wants to hear from you!
We need to make sure that when we are advocating about young people's participation in the arts, and defining quality practice, we are representing their views!
The NYCI Youth Arts Programme is inviting youth workers and 4 young participants to a forum for young people capturing what young people think are the principles and ideas that make a high quality youth arts project and identifying levers and barriers to participation.
This forum will take place
11.30am-3.30pm, Wednesday, 20th February 2019 (mid term break).
In Poetry Ireland, 11, Parnell Square East, Dublin 1. (Directly opposite entrance to The Garden of Remembrance).
Travel expenses will be reimbursed (upon receipt of invoice and receipts after the event). Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
The intention of the forum, through a range of interactive activities is to:
- Bring together young people who’ve experienced art in their youth work setting
- Create a space where they can connect with what we understand to be the principles of a high quality youth arts project
- Invite and support them through creative means to explore and interrogate those principles for contemporary relevance
- Explore how young people’s lived experience of the arts can inform and improve our understanding of high quality provision/participation.
The ideas and contributions captured will inform how NYCI defines high quality youth arts practice in the implementation of its new youth arts strategy.
We very much hope you can attend! Please feel free to ring Anne O'Gorman 01 4255932 with any questions.
