Irish language programme of events 2017

Irish language youth organisation Ógras has been working hard on their program of events for the year, and have a host of exciting events coming up! Here are some of the highlights:

Seachtain na Gaeilge 1-7 March 2017, countrywide - Ógras will as always be participating in the SnaG celebrations with events big and small all over the country. From small parties to big challenges in clubs, it's set to be a great fornight for Ógras agus an Gaeilge!

Seó Ardáin, varied dates, Leinster, Munster, Connaught and Ulster - taking place during Seachtain na Gaeilge this year, is Ógras's yearly round of Seó Ardáin or Stage Shows, where clubs compose a performance piece for stage based around a theme and compete with other clubs in their province. This year's theme is The Positive Impact Young People have on the World, and we expect a wonderful display of talents from clubs all over the country on varied dates. Further details here:

Cluichí Tailteann, 6-9 April, Armagh - Ógras's annual Cluichí Tailteann bring clubs from all over the country together to  participate in sports competitions and compete for personal medals or club trophies. This year, Ógras are looking for ideas as to other competitions we might add, such as creative competitions (battle of the bands, songwriting etc.), so suggestions are all welcome!! More info here:

Summer Camps, July 2017, Leinster and Munster - Ógras hold Summer camps every year for young people aged 7-12. The camps are a fantastic, immersive way to encourage young people to use and enjoy Irish, in a safe and fun environment, while making new friends. These are day camps, running for a Mon-Fri week at a time, in various locations around the country and for a very reasonable fee. See our site for a list of camp dates and locations:
