On 20th January 2017 Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States of America.
To show our opposition to that fact and to defy the raise of the far right, at the last Members meeting we decided to follow the example of the Bridges Not Walls banner drop action across Britain, which we would like to extend to Ireland. We also encourage you to organise your local Bridges Not Walls event.
Please join us for BRIDGES NOT WALLS DUBLIN event on Friday, 20th January, 10am at Ha'Penny Bridge, Dublin 2 to show your opposition to hate, racism, xenophobia, homo- & transphobia, misogyny and stand up against division and raise of far right around the world.
Together, we will drop banners from bridges across Ireland and Britain to send a message of hope, solidarity, and unity out to our communities, people of the US and across the world on the day Trump takes up the US Presidency. We must all actively defend and stand for the rights of all of our sisters, brothers and fellow - Muslims, migrants, members of minority ethnic groups including Travellers, disabled people and LGBTQ+. We will build bridges, not walls, to a peaceful and just world rid of oppression and hatred.
