EIL programmes combine the natural attraction of travel with experiential education, thereby enabling individuals to share experiences, languages, classrooms, working life, social activities and customs with those from differing traditions. It is the oldest exchange organisation in the world, operating in over 30 countries and involving over 30,000 people in a variety of programmes. EIL has been in Ireland since 1960 and specialises in study abroad, volunteer, development education and cultural exchange programmes. EIL is a United Nations Peace Messenger Organisation.
